The Catessence series is a group of four paintings I did to express the many faces of cats - contemplative, amused, savage and proud.  Because they are larger than life-sized, they tend to dominate a room.

Kittens...they are utterly fearless, climbing all over each other, play-fighting, learning the skills they will need as adults to hunt, fight and interact with the world around them.  This little guy isn't afraid of anything.  Is he laughing, or is he challenging?  You decide.
