When I was a child, our family used to take long summer vacations camping in
many of our provincial and national parks. In the 1950's we often spent
several days camped in Algonquin Park, and on one of those cold clear night as
the stars sparkled and glowed, we could hear a pack of wild wolves howling to
each other. I never forgot that sound and the feeling of magic and mystery
in the wilderness at night.
