Last fall, I went on a reference-gathering expedition to the Thirty Thousand Islands of Georgian Bay with several artist friends.  This little guy showed up hanging on the window by his sticky little toes.  It had been raining, and the lichen on the nearby rocks was exactly the same colour and texture as the markings on his skin.  I placed him on the rocks and took several shots.  I turned my back for a moment to change batteries, and by the time I turned back, I'd completely lost track of him, he blended so well with his natural environment.
