This next series of beach shots was taken one November
afternoon as I was travelling up the 400 highway from
Toronto. I saw some really spectactular clouds
beginning to form above where I knew the Bay was (although
I couldn't see the water from the highway), so I quickly
headed to the nearest beach, knowing I could get some
really good shots.
The dunes are part of the longest
freshwater beach in the world. Stretching for
over twenty miles along the southern shore of Georgian
Bay, the area is one of the largest tourist regions
in the country. In November, storms can blow
up on the Bay unexpectedly, complete with snow, sleet and fierce
gusts of bitter wind.
