The Catessence series is a group of four paintings I did to express the many faces of cats - contemplative, amused, savage and proud.  Because they are larger than life-sized, they tend to dominate a room.

This is a portrait of Pixel, now gone to the "Rainbow Bridge".  A quiet, inner-directed little cat, she was everyone's nurse.  If anyone in the family - human or canine - was ill or feeling poorly, she would snuggle up and purr until we felt better.
