The Catessence series is a group of four paintings I did to express the many faces of cats - contemplative, amused, savage and proud.  Because they are larger than life-sized, they tend to dominate a room.

This is a portrait of an award-winning show Persian.  Like most other tortoiseshell and whites, she is female.  There have, very rarely been male "torties", but they are invariably sterile.

This painting won "Most Sophisticated Cat" in the "Pussies Galore" art show in Collingwood, Ontario.
