In September 2003, I had the great good fortune to be able to spend a week with several artist friends in a cottage on Georgian Bay, where we went out every day, taking pictures, sketching, painting and spending time together collecting reference material for the coming year.  Near the cottage was a wonderful little marsh, parts of which were covered with water lilies in full bloom.  The lemon scent of them was wonderful, and the water lily leaves were every colour of the rainbow.
